At the 2025 Links conference in New York City, Chainalysis announced a suite of updates aimed at addressing the surge in crypto-related scams, hacks, and increasingly complex illicit activity on the blockchain.

With the growing sophistication of bad actors, especially those harnessing AI to scale scams, Chainalysis is evolving its product offerings to help compliance teams, law enforcement, and institutions stay ahead.

Key Announcements from Links NYC 2025

1. Smarter Tools for Investigations and Compliance

  • A major upgrade to Reactor, Chainalysis’ investigation platform, offers faster performance and greater flexibility. New design features allow users to more easily visualise and trace illicit transactions across assets, including the ability to isolate individual transactions and overlay off-chain data.

  • Rapid, a newly launched AI-powered triage tool, is designed to support law enforcement. It delivers instant, easy-to-understand insights and recommended actions—no deep crypto knowledge required.

  • A Compliance Dashboard now enables teams to better understand alert patterns and adjust risk rules to improve response efficiency.

2. Real-Time Crime Prevention via Acquisitions

Chainalysis is placing increased emphasis on proactive threat detection by incorporating technologies from two recent acquisitions:

  • Alterya uses AI to identify scammers before they strike, analysing huge datasets to detect suspicious behaviours, such as lookalike domains and fake identities. It currently monitors over $8 billion in transactions monthly.
  • Hexagate applies machine learning to protect against live on-chain threats. Already securing over $50 billion in assets for protocols, exchanges, and asset managers, Hexagate helps detect wallet tampering, malicious contracts, and more.

3. Customisable Threat Intelligence with Data Solutions

The company also introduced Chainalysis Data Solutions (DS), a new platform built for organisations tackling large-scale on-chain threats. DS supports advanced visualisations, automated workflows, and tailored monitoring, giving users more control and clarity when investigating illicit activity across blockchains.

Chainalysis Responds to the Changing Landscape

Several key trends shaped the discussions at this year’s event:

  • Crypto scams surged to $12.5 billion in the past year, driven by the increasing scale and sophistication enabled by generative AI.
  • The $1.5 billion ByBit hack suggests 2025 could surpass the $2.2 billion in crypto stolen throughout 2024.
  • Criminals are increasingly using bridges, mixers, and cross-chain swaps to obscure fund flows, adding complexity to blockchain investigations.

As crypto adoption continues to grow, alongside evolving regulations and the emergence of new layer 1s, rollups, and layer 2 solutions, Chainalysis’ expanded product suite reflects an industry-wide need to modernise how crime is detected, prevented, and investigated.
